Our History
Henderson Federal Savings Bank was chartered by the State of Texas on January 11, 1929 as Henderson Building and Loan Association. It was the vision of a group of local business men to provide a locally owned financial institution for the purpose of offering a safe place local investors could save and receive a generous return on their savings, and in turn furnish the citizens of Henderson and the surrounding counties financial assistance to purchase the home of their dreams. On December 13, 1934 the association received its charter of insurance from the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation (F.S.L.I.C.), and the name was changed to Henderson Federal Savings and Loan Association. At that time deposits were insured up to $5,000. On March 12, 1937 the association joined the Federal Home Loan Bank Board increasing its ability to offer affordable loans for local residential housing.
Throughout the history of Henderson Federal Savings Bank the association has had three locations in the city of Henderson. Each location change has been to accommodate the growth and expansion of the association and to provide a better service environment for our customers.
Today Henderson Federal Savings Bank continues to operate with the same business philosophy of our founders. We are a community owned and operated financial institution whose goal is to provide a safe place for the people of our community to save. Although residential mortgage lending is still our primary lending business, we offer a wide variety of lending solutions to meet the financial needs of our customers.
Our customers are our most important assets. The management and employees of Henderson Federal Savings Bank strive to provide excellent personal service and financial products that meet our customers’ needs.

Henderson Federal was founded in 1929 by a group of local businessmen who had a vision for saving and home ownership in Henderson and Rusk County. Since that time, Henderson Federal has grown and prospered along with our community.
